The Joke’s On Bonnaroo

01:01 PM Friday 3/12/10 |   |

Sure, the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival has bands aplenty, from Dave Matthews Band to Weezer to Flaming Lips. But did you know the annual multi-day festival also features some of the best comedians of the day?

Bonnaroo released its comedy lineup for this year’s festival scheduled for June 10-13 near Manchester, Tenn., and the list is truly impressive. You have A-list laugh-getters, such as Conan O’Brien and Margaret Cho, as well as jokesters like Aziz Ansari, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer and Baron Vaughn.

In addition to performing at this year’s Bonnaroo, O’Brien will also MC the What Stage on Friday and Saturday.

  • Margaret Cho

She's a little bit country. Margaret Cho goes native in Bonnaroo's 2009 Comedy Tent.

The list of funny people appearing at Bonnaroo’s Comedy Theatre also includes Greg Giraldo, Bo Burnham, Doug Benson, Rob Huebel, John Roberts and Chelsea Peretti, with more comedians expected to be confirmed for the festival. There will also be a “Bonnaroo roast” hosted by Jeffrey Ross.

A daily schedule for Comedy Theatre has yet to be released.

This year will also mark the first time the festival has fielded a comedy tour, appropriately called the “Bonnaroo College Comedy Tour.” Featuring performances from several Bonnaroo alumni, including Amy Schumer, Pete Holmes and Kumail Nanjiani, the tour is expected to play campuses during April and May. Tour dates are forthcoming.
