It would safe to say the Disco Biscuits love their fans. The pre-order offers for the band’s upcoming album, Planet Anthem, added a whole new level to the term “personalized copy.” Now they’re reinventing the record release party.

To celebrate the release of Anthem, due Tuesday, the Disco Biscuits are hosting a big blowout at Philadelphia’s Theatre of the Living Arts.

Since the Biscuits are keenly aware that not everyone who would like to be there can (for one thing, there’s not enough room), the guys have partnered with Livestream to broadcast the entire shindig live, beginning at 8 p.m. EDT.

Livestream is also offering fans a player widget for the webcast that can be embedded anywhere – Facebook, Twitter, your Aunt Margie’s celebrity lookalike potato chip Web site – and will let viewers converse with each other and the band.

The Biscuits’ pre-order strategy, which included perks ranging from attending an Eagles game with the band to doing shots of Jameson with them, was a smash success, with more than 3,000 packages sold. Autographed copies of the new album are still available through NewburyComics.com.
