For her debut headlining trek, Lambert has enlisted the talents of nine of country music’s hottest male acts to open her shows – James Otto, David Nail, Randy Houser, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Wade Bowen, Luke Bryan and Chris Young.
The “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour” kicks off March 18 at the Raleigh County Armory in Beckley, W. Va., with help from Otto and will make its way across the country through early June.
The singer took pains to reasure anyone worried for the safety of her male support that her bark is worse than her bite.
“I like pink guitars and puppies so how scary can I be?” Lambert joked. “Seriously, it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve been on tour with some great male headliners so I thought it’s only natural that I invite some talented guys on my first official headlining tour!”
Most of the singer’s co-stars, who will take turns providing support on the tour, were quick to spout glowing compliments about her – most likely to protect their, um, assets. Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Grady Cross called her “a great entertainer” and fellow Texan Bowen labeled her “one of the most confident women I’ve been around,” but Church is ready to join her in a little mischief.
“Miranda and I both have a lot of respect for each other musically,” the former Pollstar Hotstar said. “I consider her a badass and she considers me one. Put us both together and it should be unsafe at best. Everybody better rest up for this one cause we’re gonna blow it up.”
