In the beginning there was Fox’s series “Glee,” which became a smash hit and created millions of Gleeks from coast to coast, who then demanded “Glee Live! In Concert!” so they could see their favorite cast members performing up close and personal. So what’s next? How about Broadway?

Music Theater International is in talks with the creators and producers of “Glee” for a stage adaptation of the series, according to Variety. HMI licenses a variety of shows, including “Hairspray,” “High School Musical” and “Rent,” for everything from touring versions to community theatre to high school drama club productions.

Details are limited about where exactly a theatrical version of “Glee” will wind up – on Broadway or someplace like Speedway Senior High School in Indiana – since the show is still in the early stages of planning.

Stay tuned.
