Gathering Of The Vibes Eyes No. 15

01:01 PM Thursday 3/25/10 |   |

Who’s up for the 15th Gathering Of The Vibes? How about Primus, Jimmy Cliff and a couple of Grateful Dead members? Lineup and more after the jump.

The festival that began life in 1996 as a commemoration of the life, music and times of Jerry Garcia celebrates its 15th anniversary this summer with a stellar lineup set for July 29 through August 1 at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, Conn.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Vibes Gathering without a direct connection to The Grateful Dead. This year the festival features performances by Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann’s Rhythm Devils featuring Keller Williams. Donna Jean Godchaux, who performed with The Dead during the ‘70s, is making an appearance, too.

Also appearing for your vibe-gathering pleasure is a reconstituted Primus as well as Damian Marley, Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Galactic.

But that’s just the short list for this year’s Gathering also features performances by Steve Kimock Crazy Engine, Umphrey’s McGee, Beastie Boys’ DJ Mix Master Mike, Jackie Greene Band, Little Feat, Martin Sexton featuring The Ryan Montbleau Band, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Dark Star Orchestra, Zach Deputy, Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Max Creek.

The festival expects to announce more artists on the lineup in the weeks to come, including the Sunday-night headliner and which acts will appear on the Green Vibes Stage.

At this time Gathering Of The Vibes has a limited number of weekend camping passes on sale for $165 while VIP passes are priced at $420. Single-day tickets will be offered once the final band schedule is announced next month. For more information, click here for the festival’s Web site.
