Scheduled To Appear – 03/29

04:04 PM Monday 3/29/10 |   |

There was a time when musicians with new material had pretty limited choices to promote it: print interviews, five-minute radio chats, talk shows, personal appearances and touring, to name a few. But it’s a whole new ballgame these days and artists from Justin Bieber to Lonestar to Dr. Dog are working every angle they can.

Home shopping channels have been a place to pick up the latest Esteban album or maybe even that Roy Orbison box set you’ve had your eye on. Lately though, you’re just as likely to find an artist dropping by – or even performing live – to push a new album.

In fact, Lonestar will be doing just that later this week when they drop in on QVC Presents Q Sessions Live.”

The March 31 appearance, at 6 p.m. EDT, will include several of the group’s greatest hits and selection from their upcoming disc, Party Heard Around the World.

Speaking of Dr. Dog, the days when bands like them were forced to rely on a music video or a single on the radio to move new material are long past. Now fans are just as likely to get an opportunity to hear the entire album before they buy it.

NPR’s “First Listen” debut’s Dr. Dog’s latest disc, Shame, Shame, in its entirety today, a full week before its April 6 release.
