Lilith’s organizers have been teasing fans since a short announcement stating the touring festival would return in 2010 was posted on LilithFair.com last April. Organizers began announcing cities for the tour in October, but refrained from mentioning dates or venues. In fact, Lilith did not begin mentioning dates with cities until mid-March.
And now everything is out on the table as organizers present a schedule listing 36 shows with the tour kicking off in Calgary at McMahon Stadium June 27 and ending in Dallas at Superpages.com Center Aug. 16.
In between those anchor dates look for the tour to play pretty much every key concert market in North America, including Vancouver (July 1), Seattle (July 3), San Francisco (July 5), Phoenix (July 8), Los Angeles (July 10), Salt Lake City (July 12), Chicago (July 17), Indianapolis (July 20), Detroit (July 21), Montreal (July 23), Philadelphia (July 28), Raleigh (Aug. 4), Tampa (Aug. 11) and Houston (Aug. 15).
Especially noteworthy is the news that Rihanna will take a break from her own headlining tour to appear on the SLC stop.
As to the artist lineup for each city, today’s announcement says there are only two constants on this tour – headliner Sarah McLachlan and the Lilith Local Talent Search Ourstage.com winner – with the rest of the 11-artist lineup differing from town to town.
Artists mentioned as appearing on portions of Lilith include Corinne Bailey Rae, Chantal Kreviazuk, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Kelly Clarkson, Ke$ha, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, Indigo Girls, Heart, Emmylou Harris, Colbie Caillat, Toby Lightman, Tegan and Sara, Martina McBride and Mary J Blige.
