Scorpions Add More Places To Say ‘Goodbye’

03:01 PM Tuesday 4/13/10 |   |

Capping an astounding career spanning more than four decades, Germany’s Scorpions up the effort to play to as many people as possible by adding even more dates to its farewell world tour.

Whether you love ‘em, hate ‘em or even ignore ‘em, one thing remains crystal clear – there will never be another band like Scorpions. With their tasty power chords and rock anthems, Scorpions are one of the biggest bands in the world and will be remembered long after that final note plays … somewhere.

Yes, we’re rather ambiguous about the end of the “Get Your Sting And Blackout” tour. Sure, the last date on the current schedule shows the band in Germany at the O2 World Hamburg Nov. 19, but that’s a long ways away from April, and there’s always a chance the band could extend its farewell.

Meanwhile, we have some new U.S. cities and dates to tell you about as the band tours to support their latest and final album – Sting In The Tail. Like Guilford, N.H., at the Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion June 23; Clarkston, Mich., at the DTE Energy Music Theatre July 1; Pittsburgh at The Amphitheatre At Station Square July 5 and Nashville at Bridgestone Arena July 10.

Other additions include Miami (July 16), Tampa (July 17), New Orleans (July 19), Phoenix (July 27) and Broomfield, Co., at the 1STBANK Center Aug. 17.

The Scorpions have invited a few guests to accompany the band on its farewell jaunt. Bands appearing on select dates include Cinderella, Dokken, Ratt and Tesla. For more information Scorpions’ “Get Your Sting and Blackout” farewell tour, click here for the band’s Web site.
