Los Lonely Boys Cancel Dates

11:01 AM Thursday 4/22/10 |   |

A rather nasty vocal malady has forced Los Lonely Boys to cancel dates through mid-May as well as hold up a CD release.

Doctors at the Colorado Voice Clinic told Los Lonely Boys member Jojo Garza to refrain from singing after discovering lesions on the bassist’s vocal cords.

“My voice specialist told me it’s vital to take care of this medical issue now if I want to continue making music,” Garza said in a statement. Or, more likely wrote in a statement. “Nothing is more important to me than sharing this passion with my fans, so I cannot ignore this problem. My brothers and I promise to do our best to make up these shows.”

Canceled shows range from the band’s April 21 gig in Missoula, Mont., through a May 12 show in Odense, Denmark.

In a double-dose of bad news, the band’s upcoming CD scheduled to be released in the fall, is now on hold.
