You can spend November huddled in your home for warmth, but wouldn’t you rather be on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula at the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival?
After all, how can you resist the idea of lounging on a pristine beach while the Caribbean gently laps up against your toes all day until nightfall when the festival cranks up another round of great jazz performances? If you’re saying “no” to all this, then maybe you should grab your wrist and feel for a pulse.
While scheduled for November 25-28 in Playa Del Carmen, organizers will host a free “kick-off” concert at the Mamitas Beach Club May 29 starring Phil Perry and Brian McKnight.
Once the festival gets underway in November, Hiram Gómez, Mike Stern with Dave Weckl and Ivan Lins perform opening night Nov. 25, while Troker, Eldar Djangirov, Al Di Meola and Incognito appear Nov. 26.
Nov. 27 features Aguamala, George Duke, John McLaughlin and The Manhattan Transfer. Riviera Maya's final night has Yekina Pavón, Eugenia León and Armando Manzanero with La Big Band Mexico.
Hanging out on the beach all day while soaking in fine jazz vibes during the evenings. In November, no less. Think you can handle it? If so, click here for the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival website.
