Ever wonder what it’s like inside the head of Public Image Ltd.’s John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten? If you navigate on over to NPR.org, you can at least get an idea of the singer’s musical taste.

Lydon and PiL are currently in the midst of a wildly successful U.S. tour that kicked off at Coachella and wraps next week with a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brookyln that will be filmed for posterity.

While he and the band were making their way across the country, Lydon made time to drop by NPR’s “All Songs Considered” to share some of his favorite songs with host Bob Boilen.

Included in the singer’s list are a handful of PiL tunes (“Poptones,” “Rise” and “Disappointed”), a couple of classics (Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower” and Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”) and some surprises (Dudley Moore and Peter Cook’s “Bedazzled”).

And of course, John Lydon being John Lydon, he couldn’t resist the urge to take the piss out of “All Songs” host Boilen a few times.

You can also hear a full PiL concert tomorrow night, live on “NPR Music,” beginning at 8 p.m. EST.

As much as I love the Sex Pistols - John is a pain in the neck!!  All he does is complain, complain, complain!!   And then he contradicts himself a lot!  And if you dare disagree or challenge him...he will walk away.  What a baby he is now!!

You were a rebel in 1977 John...now you just a crotchy old man!!  Shut up and sing!

Yea,Rotten is hard to figure out.One minute he's calling British metal from the '60's to 70's "heavy metal noise merchants" in a disparaging way and then Sabbath's 'Paranoid' makes his all-time songlist.
