Mace: All Time Low

10:01 AM Wednesday 6/2/10 |   |

Security personnel used pepper spray on teenagers at the traveling Bamboozle Roadshow at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington May 29, resulting in at least 15 people getting treated at the park by first aid personnel.

The incident occurred during All Time Low’s set.  According to an Arlington police spokeswoman, an off-duty officer working security responded to a request to help near the stage where a scuffle broke out, presumably when two dozen kids started to fight over a hat.

“The cause of the altercation appeared to have been because the band had been throwing articles of clothing into the crowd and fans were rushing to the stage and tussling over those items,” the representative said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The officer commanded the teenagers to stop the increasingly violent scuffle, then saw a teen on the ground who could possibly get injured.

“Near the teen on the ground, the Arlington officer commanded one young man holding a baseball cap that had been thrown into the crowd to release it, which he refused to do.”

The officer pepper-sprayed the concertgoer, who was later treated.  So were those nearby who were affected by the cast-off spray.

A use-of-force review is expected, the spokeswoman said.

Meanwhile, a concertgoer has posted a camera-phone video of the event.  The video is shaky, but the explicit language is very clear.  All Time Low condemns the action from the stage.

Funny cause the band looks really frightened when the kids rushed the stage, seems everyone was just a little bit wrong here. The venue for failing to provide enough security, and the security for not understanding how to control the crowd..urmm kids.  ATL should have handled themselves better, in many ways, by not inciting the crowd by throwing items at them.  Also, the bad word use, just not required, and really another bad example, of poor professionalism. They should have let their publicists handle the media flow, just my YOda thoughts...take care out their kids...nothing is worth getting hurt over...

Wow, Kinks. A little paranoid are you? Six Flags does in-house production, this wasn't a Live Nation event.

Secondly, this is an example of whats wrong with Arlington Police. They're heavy fisted - from the choked down traffic control (try driving by Arlington Stadium or Cowboy Stadium during a game) to this strong arming during a kiddy concert.

all time low are a bunch of snotty little douchebags, their fans deserve it. when i saw them they were asking people to whip out their D's and helicopter them to see who could do it the best. some of the idiots in the crowd actually did it. disgusting.

At least they didn't have time to stop the drugs, underage drinking or other things fans were doing for fun without paying the promoter like usual (gotta protect those LiveNation profits)
