Christina Aguilera has taken some heat lately for her decision to postpone her long-awaited return to the road until next year. And it got even hotter for the singer when she sat down with Fuse for a no-holds-barred conversation about her new album, her personal life and her sometimes controversial image.

“Christina Aguilera: On the Record with Fuse” will premiere Monday night at 8 p.m. EDT, the eve or the release of the singer’s latest release, Bionic.

The cable network will also devote a significant amount of time to Aguilera throughout the day, airing music videos and highlights from her “Christina Aguilera: Back to Basics – Live Down Under” concert film.

Topics covered in the hour-long special include the singer’s image (“I get into the dress up, I do, I get into the dress up.”), her reputation as a sometimes difficult performer to work with (“You know, if I’m a bitch, then I’m a bitch. If being a strong assertive woman with an opinion, which many people can’t handle, is to you. So I adapted it as a sort of a badge of honor.”) and her colorful history (“My son Max has been able to help me make peace with my own past…”).
