Live’s Kowalczyk Has His Own Tour To Do

02:01 PM Wednesday 6/9/10 |   |

A solo album and his own tour makes Ed Kowalczyk a very busy man.

Well, maybe not that busy. Kowalczyk’s upcoming solo album, Alive, is due to hit stores July 6, meaning that most of the work is already behind him, but the Live frontman will embark on a short series of tour dates in the U.S. followed by Europe in support of Alive.

The tour begins in Buffalo, N.Y., at Lafayette Square July 1; lands in South Burlington, Vt., for a gig at Higher Ground July 2 and heads northward to Beauce, Quebec, for a show at Woodstock en Beauce July 3.

Other stops include NYC at City Winery July 6; Clifton Park, N.Y., at Northern Lights July 7; Pougkeepsie at The Chance July 8; Sayreville, N.J., at Starland Ballroom July 9; Hampton Beach, N.H., at the Casino Ballroom July 10 and Chicago at Lollapalooza Aug. 6.

Kowalczyk then heads to Europe in August, playing London’s Koko Aug. 26; Holland’s Bavaria Open Air Festival Aug. 28; Utrecht’s Muziekcentrum Vredenburg Aug. 29 and Amsterdam’s Paradiso Sept. 1. Kowalczyk’s Euro plans also include shows in Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Recorded in Austin with producer CJ Eiriksson (U2, Blue October, matchbox twenty), Alive features Kowalczyk’s new band consisting of Ramy Antoun on drums, James Gabbie on lead guitar and Chris Heerlein on bass. For more info, click here for EdKowalczyk.com.

Ed Kowalcyzk, former frontman for "Live" has come out with a fantastic new song called "Grace".  So happy that one of my favorite singers has continued to create music for all of us to enjoy.  Watching and listening to Ed perform live is an amazing experience and I cannot wait to see him come back here to Orlando.  Give "Grace" a listen.  It is an uplifting, inspiring song from a great songwriter.  Looking forward to the new album coming out next month.

This is going to be an amazing tour in support of Ed's new album, Alive.  His new single, Grace, just came out and is powerful, uplifting & spiritual.  Ed is a truly talented & gifted artist.  If you haven't seen Ed live on stage, be sure to check him out on tour this summer.  Ed becomes alive on stage & you can tell from his performance & interaction with his fans how passionate he is about his music.  Also, he has one of the most powerful & amazing voices in the music industry today!  I had the unique opportunity to sit front & center in Vegas when he was there for the Open Wings Broken Strings tour and then was able to meet him after the show.  Ed is the most humble, down-to-earth musician you will ever meet.  He takes the time to talk to his fans and you can tell he genuinely cares.

Be sure to check out Ed on tour and also pick up his new CD, Alive, on July 6th :)

After this comment lizzydancing wrote, there's not much left for me to say, except this : The first time I heard Ed Kowalczyk singing, it was in a live performance,a video, from the Pinkpop concert in 1997, with a song called "Iris". I stood there speechless.. amazed by this man this voice! My God, the song..So much Power and how he's making it seem so easy, so natural, that I,automatically knew. He's was a Leader. And a Poet. Nobody can write about everything, from Love, to the problems of human existence, like he’s being here on earth, a thousand years or more!

Ed never let me down, not once all these years, instead he never ceased to surprise me,never ceased to move me, or giving me the chills again and again and man!..If THAT’s not a gift from above..If that’s not a Graced man…then I don’t know WHAT or WHO is..

A philosopher with a powerful voice that can send your soul to a mystical journey and come back “brighter” in every sense of the word. He is a Born Artist and his new song GRACE is simply the best proof  to see what I mean:

“every saint used to be a sinner..

every man used to be a child!

you said it was all in inside my mind!

    But you were wrong..

    there was grace!

    you saw the enemy

    I saw your face..

    you were wrong!

    I still have faith.”

If you haven't seen Ed live on stage, you have missed out something very rare and quite special.  Experiencing his energy and artistry is rock and roll heaven on earth.  I had the honor of seeing him in a small venue for his acoustic set last year and was able to meet him after the show.  He is warm, friendly, personable and walks his talk when it comes to treating his fans with respect and love.  His voice is mesmerizing and I feel uplifted each time I hear him sing.  His new single just came out,  "Grace",   and it totally rocks!!  Loved it the first time I heard it  and can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
