Spiritualized Plans Special NYC Gig

11:01 AM Tuesday 6/22/10 | |

Spiritualized has a unique evening in store for fans as the Brit space rock band schedules a one-night-only date for a complete performance of its 1997 album “Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space.”

Although Spiritualized has performed similar shows in the United Kingdom, the July 30 concert at New York’s Radio City Music Hall is being touted as the only North American show as well as “the last performance of its kind.”

What makes it so special? That is, other than playing Ladies & Gentlemen… from start-to-finish? Spiritualized will be joined by a choir, an eight-piece string section and horns in a show that drew plenty of rave reviews when performed across the pond. “A space-rock masterpiece,” said Spin while the Independent described it as “a wall of sound blowing a capacity crowd practically off its feet.”
