Uncle Kracker Gets Ready For The Country

11:01 AM Wednesday 9/29/10 |   |

Despite having worked with country music artists in the past, Uncle Kracker has never headlined his own country music club tour. But that will change come November.

It’s not like the Detroit native hasn’t picked up some country cred over the years, having collaborated with Kenny Chesney on 2004’s “When The Sun Goes Down” as well as having toured with the man from Tennessee. Uncle Kracker also co-penned Kid Rock’s 2008 country chart climber, “All Summer Long,” and is currently playing a few dates with Jason Aldean.

Uncle Kracker begins his country club tour in Athens, Ga., at the 40 Watt Club Nov. 3; plays Augusta, Ga., at the Country Club Saloon Nov. 4 and stops in Tallahassee, Fla., for a show at The Moon Nov. 5. Look for Uncle Kracker to play dates in Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Minnesota and Wisconsin before wrapping it all up in Wabash, Ind., at the Honeywell Center Dec. 12.

“I’ve always had a genuine passion for country,” Uncle Kracker said. “I think that audiences appreciate that, and that’s why they’re giving me a chance. Country music was one of the types of music I grew up with, so elements of it naturally come out in my songwriting. Listening to a lot of my songs – all the way back to ‘Follow Me’ – I feel like I’ve been making country music for years.”
