Top Tours So Far This Year

02:01 PM Friday 10/8/10 |   |

As we head into the final stretch of 2010 we find AC/DC topping ticket sales throughout the world with Bon Jovi a close second.

According to information received by Pollstar’s data processing facility located in a titanium-hardened bunker miles beneath Fresno, Calif., AC/DC sold 1,820,962 tickets this year, 452,228 more than second place Bon Jovi which so far has sold 1,368,734 tickets. However, AC/DC is idle for the rest of the year while Bon Jovi has a few arena and stadium dates yet to play. Ironically, some of those dates are in Australia, meaning the band just might overtake AC/DC on the Aussie band’s home turf.

“Walking With Dinosaurs,” the arena spectacular starring those lovable gigantic lizards that roamed the earth back when TV talker Larry King was on his second marriage, holds down the third position, selling 1,115,098 tickets. Fourth and fifth places went to Dave Matthews Band (1,070,024 tickets) and The Black Eyed Peas (942,277 tickets), respectively.

Who else is selling tickets? Tim McGraw, Michael Bublé, Brad Paisley, Lady Gaga, Pink, Taylor Swift, Brooks & Dunn and Justin Bieber moved plenty of ducats this year. To see our top 100 tours per tickets sold so far this year listed in handy dandy PDF form, just click here for the download.
