Animal Collective Collecting Artists For ATP

05:01 PM Wednesday 10/27/10 | |

Animal Collective has joined the ranks of lucky artists deemed worthy of the task of curating one of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festivals.

The festival takes place May 13-15, 2011 at Butlins Minehead in Somerset, United Kingdom.

“I always wondered what kind of mixtape Animal Collective would put together, so we are really stoked that they are climbing into the curating hot seat at Butlins next May where they will headline and curate the festival that includes the likes of Lee 'Scratch' Perry and Gang Gang Dance from an already eclectic mix of 40+ acts,” ATP promoter Barry Hogan said.

The lineup also includes Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Broadcast, Black Dice, IUD and Omar-S. Prince Rama will also be there along with Spectrum, Dent May, Group Doueh, The Brothers Unconnected, Sublime Frequencies DJs + Films, Deradoorian, Zomby and Vladislav Delay.

Meat Puppets are performing the band’s 1985 album Up on the Sun. The Frogs are also going back to the ‘80s by performing their 1989 album It’s Only Right and Natural.

More artists will be announced soon.

All tickets include accommodations at Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead. Tickets are priced at £165pp ($261.08) for room only and £170pp ($276.90) for self catering.

The “room only” option offers double, single or bunk beds with a private bathroom and TV. This option includes between two and six beds in the room. “Self catering” includes a private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. The “self catering” option includes four, six or seven beds in the room.

A small number of early bird tickets will be available until Nov. 5 (unless they run out before then). The tickets are discounted £20 ($31.65) per person, making room only tickets £145pp ($229.43) and self catering tickets £155pp ($245.25) each.

Fans who are strapped for cash have the option of putting a £65 or £75 ($102.85 or $118.67) deposit down now and paying the balance by the end of January 2011.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m.
