Foo Fighters’ Festival Appearances Add Up

The Foo Fighters continue to load up its 2011 schedule with more festival appearances including T in the Park and Optimus Alive!

The rock band is the first act announced for the 2011 edition of T in the Park. The festival takes place July 8-10 at Balado in Kinross-Shire, Scotland.

“Once again we are proud to bring one of the world's biggest and most influential rock bands to Balado,” promoter Geoff Ellis said in a statement. “As well as being a personal favourite and a band that T in the Park fans continually praise, Foo Fighters are one of the best festival headliners on the planet and I'm delighted we have them for T in the Park 2011.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 3 at 9 a.m. Individual tickets are priced at £75 ($116.94) each and Saturday/Sunday tickets are £150 (233.88).

Fans can catch Dave Grohl and co. in Portugal the first night of next year’s Optimus Alive! Festival.

The event is set for July 7-9 at Passeio Maritimo De Alges in Lisbon.

Tickets are on sale now.

Previously announced festival appearances include Sasquatch! Music Festival in Quincy, Wash. (May 27), Isle Of Wight Festival in Newport, United Kingdom (June 11), Southside Festival in Neuhausen ob Eck, Germany (June 17), and Hurricane Festival in Sheessel, Germany (June 19).

The upcoming shows mark the Foo Fighters’ first gigs since the band played the December 2008 Grammy Nominations Concert Live at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.
