Noise Pop Starts Naming Names

05:01 PM Monday 12/6/10 | |

Yo La Tengo, Ted Leo, Dan Deacon and The Stone Foxes are just some of the acts booked for San Francisco’s Noise Pop 2011.

Noise Pop isn’t like those music festivals taking place on farms, city parks or at polo clubs where performances by a zillion or so artists and bands are spread out over multiple stages. Instead, Noise Pop keeps it real by incorporating local venues into the mix, turning the annual event into a citywide affair.

Scheduled for Feb. 22-27, here is how Noise Pop is shaping up so far. Unless otherwise noted, all venues are in San Francisco.

Feb. 22: Yo La Tengo at the Fox Theater in Oakland.
Feb. 23: Versus and Telekinesis at Café Du Nord and Dan Deacon at the Rickshaw Stop.
Feb. 24: Ted Leo performs solo at Bottom Of the Hill, The Stone Foxes take over the Independent and Daniel Martin Moore plays Café Du Nord.
Feb. 25: The Concretes at Rickshaw Stop.
Feb. 26: Max Bemis at Bottom Of The Hill, How To Dress Well with Dominant Legs at Café Du Nord and Best Coast and Waves at The Regency Ballroom.

Expect more artists to be announced.
