Lollapalooza Chile Announces Lineup

10:01 AM Friday 1/28/11 | |

The newest member of the Lollapalooza family lays down its lineup, listing The Killers, Jane’s Addiction and Kanye West among the acts descending on Santiago in April.

Lollapalooza Chile marks the first international event carrying the moniker Perry Farrell slapped on his then traveling-festival concept in 1991. Set for April 2-3 at the Chilean capital city’s O’Higgins Park, this year’s inaugural roll-out also includes performances by 30 Seconds To Mars, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Deftones, Fatboy Slim, The Flaming Lips, Armin Van Buuren, Cypress Hill, Ben Harper, Sublime With Rome, 311, The National and many more.

When announcing Lollapalooza was Chile bound, Farrell, who will perform in Jane’s Addiction as well as his electronic hybrid Perryetty, said Santiago was chosen partly because of the city’s “open space and the variety of cultural offerings and because locals have a passion for contemporary music.”

Presented in conjunction with Chile’s Lotus Producciones, WME Entertainment and C3 Presents, tickets available for Lollapalooza Chile include general two-day passes and Lolla Lounge two-day VIP passes. General admission, single day ticket sales kick in Feb. 11. There are also travel packages from North America available from Carson Wagonlit. For more info, check out the Lollapalooza Chile website.
