Avenged Sevenfold Plots Family Outing

01:01 PM Thursday 2/17/11 |   |

When Avenged Sevenfold names its tour “Welcome To The Family,” you know the band isn’t talking about The Osmonds.

The tour’s moniker is about music, specifically the latest single from the band’s 2010 album, Nightmare.

The “Welcome To The Family” tour gets underway in Bossier City, La., at the Century Tel Center April 22. Other dates include Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center April 30; Springfield, Mass., at the Mass Mutual Center May 3; Orlando at UCF Arena May 9; Wichita at InTrust Bank Center May 14; Lubbock at the Lonestar Amphitheatre May 17 and San Antonio at the Alamodome May 18. Expect more dates to be announced soon.

Three Days Grace joins Avenged Sevenfold for the entire “Welcome To The Family” tour. Sevendust appears April 22 through May 1 and Bullet For My Valentine is signed on for May 3-20.

Avenged Sevenfold also has some festival appearances on the routing, playing the 100.3 Edgefest in Little Rock April 23; the first-ever Carolina Rebellion in Charlotte N.C., May 7, the LAZERfest in Des Moines May 15 and Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio, May 21. The band is also booked for Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisc., July 16.

So far, no ticketing information has been released. In the meantime we’re keeping an eye on AvengedSevenfold.com.
