‘Welcome To Rockville’ Unveils Its First Lineup

12:01 PM Thursday 2/24/11 |   |

There’s a first time for everything and for the brand spankin’ new festival called “Welcome To Rockville,” the first time will be May 8 in Jacksonville, Fla., with a lineup including Godsmack, Seether, Stone Sour and Theory Of A Deadman.

Puddle Of Mudd, Skillet, Halestorm, Rev Theory, My Darkest Days and Jacksonville’s very own Cold are also on the lineup for the one-day festival, which takes place at Metropolitan Park.

“Welcome To Rockville” is presented by Rock On The Range partner/Jacksonville native Danny Wimmer along with Mike Yokan and Jason Lewis of Orange Garden Productions.

“Welcome To Rockville for me is a dream come true,” Wimmer said. “I’ve been very successful in launching some of the biggest rock festivals in North America and to finally bring an event of this magnitude home means the world to me. As a former partner in The Milk Bar I know just how great the rock music fans in this town are. Jacksonville finally has an event to match that passion.”

Ticket prices for the very first “Welcome To Rockville” also match that passion Willmer spoke of, with tickets priced at $39.50 and VIP ducats to sell for $90. Of course, those prices are good for when tickets go on sale next week but are expected to rise as May 8 draws near.

Speaking of sales, a pre-sale begins March 1 and will be handled via the Welcome To Rockville Festival website with pre-sale password info served up by the website for local radio station X102.9 and the Facebook page for Rock 104.5. General onsales begin March 4.
