Tommy Emmanuel Taps Bro For Tour

02:01 PM Wednesday 3/2/11 |   |

Tommy Emmanuel’s upcoming U.S. tour will be a family affair for the most excellent Aussie acoustic guitarist as he’s joined by his older brother and the Australian All-Star Band.

Phil Emmanuel gigged with younger brother Tommy until both siblings were in their late 20s, about the same time Tommy started winning awards along with Gold and Platinum albums. Now Tommy has lined up a May tour of the U.S., not only taking Phil on the road with him, but enlisting his big brother’s group, the Australian All-Star Band, consisting of keyboardist Ashley Crick, electric guitarist Simon Hosford, bassist Rob Little and drummer Kevin Murphy.

The tour launches May 5 in Portland, Maine at the Merrill Auditorium. Included in the run are stops in Albany, N.Y. (May 7), Alexandria, Va. (May 10), Glenside, Pa. (May 11), Foxboro, Mass. (May 12-13), New York City (May 14-15), Chicago (May 18), Tulsa (May 21) and Baton Rouge (May 22). Last show listed on the routing is in Nashville at the James Polk Theater May 25.

Many dates are on sale now. Head over to TommyEmmanuel.com for more info.
