Rock Legends Cruise Loads Up On Talent

04:01 PM Thursday 3/17/11 |   |

Evidently a lineup starring headliners ZZ Top and George Thorogood & The Destroyers just wasn’t enough for the folks behind the first ever “Rock Legends Cruise.” Now you can add Edgar Winter, Artimus Pyle Band, Devon Allman’s Honeytribe and The Chris Hicks Band to the Caribbean journey.

  • ZZ Top

    Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Irvine, Calif.
    October 2, 2010

    (David Needle)

    |

Along with ZZ Top and Thorogood, other artists previously announced as appearing on the ship sailing out of Fort Lauderdale Dec. 1 are John Kay & Steppenwolf, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Johnny Winter, The Outlaws, Blackfoot, Pat Travers and Swampdawamp.

All those acts will be joined by as many as 3,200 fans when the Royal Caribbean Line’s Liberty Of The Sea sails the Caribbean and visits tropical ports of call such as Coco Cay and Nassau before returning to Fort Lauderdale Dec. 5. Along with all the performances on four different on-board venues, shipboard attractions also include on-board surfing made possible by a FlowRider wave generator, a full-size volleyball/basketball court, a boxing ring, cantilevered whirlpools and several gourmet restaurants.

As with many popular music cruises, you need to act early because reservations have already claimed about half of the ship’s staterooms. Proceeds from the cruise will help the Native American Heritage Association’s efforts to provide emergency assistance and programs to the Sioux Natives Americans living on South Dakota reservations. For more information, sail on over to RockLegendsCruise.com.

I wish I had more money so I could've attended this. I've never been on a cruise in my life! It's certainly on my bucket list.
