Alice In Chains To Headline MTS Rock On The Range Canada

11:01 AM Tuesday 4/12/11 |   |

The annual one-day festival also includes performances by Evanescence, Sum 41, Five Finger Death Punch, Volbeat, Hinder, Anberlin and more.

Presented by Right Arm Entertainment and True North Sports & Entertainment, the third annual MTS Rock On The Range Canada takes place at the Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Aug. 20. This year’s blowout will be the first time Alice In Chains has ever headlined the Canadian town.

“It’s always extra special when we can headline in a city where we’ve never been,” Alice In Chains founder Jerry Cantrell said. “I’m pretty sure this will be our first gig ever in Winnipeg, and MTS Rock On The Range Canada is the perfect show for us to play. We can’t wait.”

Sporting two stages, this year’s MTS Rock On The Range Canada has Alice In Chains, Evanescence, Five Finger Death Punch, Hinder, Art of Dying and The Reason booked for the Monster Energy Main Stage. Playing the Jägermeister Stage will be Sum 41, Volbeat, Anberlin, Crash Kings, Duff McKagan’s Loaded and Drive A. Organizers are touting Evanesence's appearance as the band's first live performance of the year. Expect more acts to be announced before mid-August rolls around.

Tickets go on sale April 15 at 10 a.m. Winnipeg time and will include a limited number of early bird specials priced at $29 (approximately $30 U.S.). Visit MTSRockOnTheRange.ca for more info.
