Mogwai Reschedules U.S. Gigs

01:01 PM Tuesday 4/26/11 |   |

Mogwai has worked out its visa issues and rescheduled a handful of U.S. dates that were originally set for last week.

The Scottish post-rock instrumental band announced April 17 that the shows were being postponed “due to an unforeseen delay in their visa processing.” Mogwai added that the members were “sorry for any disappointment or inconvenience caused, however, this is entirely out [of] our control.”

The shows were scheduled for April 19-23 and will now take place Sept. 26-29 and Oct. 1.

The New York shows at Webster Hall have been rescheduled for Sept. 26-27. The Philadelphia gig at Starlight Ballroom is now set for Sept. 28. The Washington, D.C., performance at 9:30 Club will now take place Sept. 29.

The Boston gig at Paradise Rock Club has been moved to Oct. 1 at House of Blues.

All tickets previously purchased will be honored at the new dates. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

Mogwai plays Toronto’s Phoenix Concert Theatre tonight. The band’s 2011 U.S. dates will now kick off on Wednesday at Mr. Small’s Theatre in Pittsburgh. U.S. shows are booked through a May 21 gig at Nashville’s Exit / In.

Upcoming festival appearances include slots at San Miguel Primavera Sound in Spain (May 28), Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland (July 13), Musilac Festival in France (July 14), iTunes Festival in United Kingdom (July 23), OFF Festival in Poland (Aug. 5), Bestival in the United Kingdom (Sept. 8) and All Tomorrow’s Parties in New Jersey (Oct. 2).
