She Wants Revenge Plots Spring Romp

03:01 PM Monday 5/9/11 |   |

With a new album coming out later this month She Wants Revenge embarks on a spring journey beginning in Kansas City.

Accompanied by longtime associates Scott Ellis on drums and Thomas Froggatt on guitars, the She Wants Revenge core of Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin have been working on Valleyheart, an album described as a “love letter” to their home state of California.

Along with playing up the Golden State, Warfield and Bravin are also directing short films for each track on the album and snagged actress Deborah Foreman who starred in ‘80s flicks “Valley Girl” and “My Chauffeur,” to appear in the film for "Must Be The One." Valleyheart drops May 23.

Although the band doesn’t get shift into full night-after-night mode until the last week of May, the group does have a couple of coming up a bit sooner, beginning with an appearance in Kansas City at The Midland as 96.5 The Buzz presents “Afentra’s Prom.” Other bands appearing on The Buzz show include The Dan Band and Beautiful Bodies.

With Nico Vega joining the tour as support, She Wants Revenge plays West Hollywood’s The Roxy May 23. The tour then heads to Detroit for a gig at St. Andrews Hall May 27. Other stops include Chicago at the Double Door May 29; Boston’s Brighton Music Hall May 31; Brooklyn’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg June 2; Columbus, Ohio, at The Basement June 6; Houston at Warehouse Live June 10 and Agoura Hills, Calif., at The Canyon Club June 19.

The band will also play (sans Vega) the WRZX May Day festival in Noblesville, Ind., at the Verizon Wireless Music Center May 28.
