The lottery began Thursday, May 12 and runs through Monday, May 16. Here’s how the game works. Each day of the lottery the festival’s Facebook and Twitter will post the name of five unique, local Austin, Texas, businesses where fans can pick up scratch-off lotto tickets.
Each business will receive 400 tickets with 2,000 tickets distributed per day and a total of 10,000 tickets given out overall. The businesses will distribute the lotto tickets, which are free of charge. Over the course of the five days a total of 15 acts will be revealed including three headliners.
In addition to the thrill of learning which acts are playing the 10th anniversary of ACL, the festival has a few other prizes in store for fans. Five golden tickets will be given out featuring the name of one of the headliners repeated three times. A golden ticket will get you a pair of three-day VIP passes.
Fans are encouraged to share information about the lineup lottery through the festival’s Facebook page. According to photos from fans posted on the ACL Facebook page, the 2011 lineup features headliners Arcade Fire and My Morning Jacket along with Chromeo, The Smith Westerns, Hayes Carll, Cee-Lo Green, Fleet Foxes, Empire Of The Sun, J. Roddy Walston And The Business, and Delta Spirit.
