Changes: From Laryngitis To Zambonis

The three-day Memorial Weekend wasn’t all sunshine, beach and barbecues for some performers as vocal problems and NHL’s Stanley Cup forced routing changes for Adele, Duran Duran and Supertramp.

For Adele the holiday weekend began when doctors’ prescribed rest after diagnosing the Brit singer with laryngitis, resulting in the postponement of her May 26 gig in Minneapolis at First Avenue for June 22. While Adele made her scheduled May 28 show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, the performance proved to be too early a return to the concert stage. Adele postponed her May 29 show at Salt Lake City’s The Depot at the last minute and three upcoming concerts on the routing will have to find new dates as well.

That means tonight’s show in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the Orpheum Theatre is postponed along with June 1 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre and Portland at the Crystal Ballroom June 3. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

Adele is expected to resume her tour in Berkeley, Calif., at the Greek Theatre June 4. For more information, click here for the singer’s MySpace page.

Laryngitis plaguing Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon has forced the postponement of six dates of the band’s “All You Need Is Now” world tour. Duran Duran was scheduled to play London’s O2 May 28 and the Brighton Centre May 30 but both dates were postponed as well as the remaining stops on the band’s U.K. run – Bournemouth May 31; Cardiff June 1; Manchester June 3 and Sheffield June 4. Word from the band is that fans should hold on to their tickets and rescheduled dates will be announced shortly.

But wait. There’s more.

Heeding the doctor’s advice, Duran Duran has canceled its June 15 appearance in Goteborg, Sweden, and has rescheduled its Vienna, Austria, at the Gasometer July 20 show to Aug. 4. For more information, visit DuranDuran.com.

If you have tickets to see Supertramp at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, tomorrow night, you’ll have to wait 24 hours. The show was originally scheduled for June 1, but the Stanley Cup match-up between the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins forced the concert to be rescheduled for June 2. All June 1 tickets will be honored on the new date. Check out the Rogers Arena website for more info.
