Heavy T.O. Thunders In July

05:01 PM Wednesday 6/1/11 |   |

Toronto becomes the loudest city on the planet next month when it hosts Heavy T.O. featuring Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Billy Talent, Slayer, Anthrax and other bands guaranteed to give your ears a proper workout.

Scheduled for July 23-24, at Downsview Park, Heavy T.O. has released its daily lineups, detailing two days of heavy metal bliss without a mellow act in sight.

Gracing Stage 1 on July 23 will be Anthrax, Motorhead, As I Lay Dying, Times Of Grace, Diamond Head and Endast while Stage 2 features performances by Megadeth, Opeth, Children Of Bodom, The Sword, Underoath and DevilDriver.

Sunday, July 24 has Billy Talent, Mastodon, Baptized In Blood, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Exodus and Dead And Divine playing Stage 1 while Rob Zombie, Slayer, Testament, Anvil, Volbeat and Death Angel crank up the volume on Stage 2.

Heavy T.O. will also host an official after-show get-together at Toronto’s Sound Academy on July 23 beginning at 9 p.m. with a “mystery headliner” to be announced at a later date. After all, if they told us who the headliner is now, it wouldn’t be a mystery.

Tickets for the after-show event go on sale June 3 at 10 a.m. Toronto time, but you can buy your Toronto T.O. festival tickets, including weekend passes and single day ducats, right now. Head on over to HeavyTO.com for more information.
