The Kills’ Killer Summer Dates

05:01 PM Thursday 6/2/11 | |

The Kills have planned one more 2011 U.S. run with new dates scheduled for early September.

The upcoming U.S. leg begins Aug. 5 with a gig at New York’s Terminal 5, followed by an Aug. 6 show in Columbus, Ohio, at Newport Music Hall. Although Lollapalooza organizers haven’t announced the festival’s daily lineup, it looks pretty likely that the indie rock duo will take the stage at Chicago’s Grant Park Aug. 7. The Kills then return to Terminal 5 for an Aug. 8 show.

The September shows kick off Sept. 4 with a set at Bumbershoot Festival at the Seattle Center. Newly announced dates include stops in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Commodore Ballroom Sept 5; Portland, Ore., at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom Sept. 7; Oakland, Calif., at Fox Theater Sept. 9; Los Angeles’ The Wiltern Sept. 10; and San Diego’s House Of Blues Sept. 11.

Tonight The Kills play Bristol, United Kingdom at the Anson Room. U.K. and German dates are booked through June 25. A few more U.K. and France festival appearances take place Aug. 26-28. A set of Australian shows is scheduled July 23-29 followed by a July 31 set at Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan.

The Kills are touring in support of the duo’s fourth studio album, Blood Pressures. The album was released in April on Domino Records. Check out The Kills performing the track “The Last Goodbye” at Coachella below.

Select tickets for the U.S. dates are on sale now. Additional tickets go on sale to the general public beginning June 3.
