Erasure In North America

04:01 PM Monday 6/20/11 |   |

Supporting their first album in more than four years, Erasure lines up its first U.S. / Canada tour in five years, playing shows coast-to-coast beginning in late August.

Sure, the band has played a few one-offs in North America, as indicated in the above photo, but the synth-pop duo of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke haven’t done any extensive touring on this side of the Pond since 2007.

The band’s new album, Tomorrow’s World, is set for a fall release, the same time the band ventures out on its journey through North America. Funny how these things have a tendency to coincide with each other, isn’t it?

The road trip begins in Tampa, Fla., at The Ritz Aug. 31; plays Lake Buena Vista near Orlando, Fla., at House Of Blues Sept. 2 and stops in Atlanta for a gig at Center Stage Aug. 3. Other stops include Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club Sept. 6-7; Philadelphia’s Theatre Of The Living Arts Sept. 8; Toronto at Sound Academy Sept. 11; New York’s Terminal 5 Sept. 13-14; Chicago’s Congress Theatre Sept. 17; Denver’s Ogden Theatre Sept. 27; Las Vegas at the Palms Concert Theater Sept. 30; Los Angeles at the Hollywood Palladium Oct. 1; Oakland at the Fox Theatre Nov. 4 and Seattle at Neptune Oct. 6.

A pre-sale for registered members of the Erasure Information Service begins June 21 and the general public onsale begins June 22. Check out Erasure’s official home on the web for more information.
