All Aboard The MTK Train

01:01 PM Friday 7/29/11 | |

Fans attending the MTK: Music To Know Festival can leave the event in style thanks to a special return train added to that weekend’s Long Island Rail Road schedule.

The fest, which takes place Aug. 13-14 at Runway 4 in East Hampton, N.Y., has teamed up with the MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to offer concert goers an official MTK festival westbound train.

The late night return train will help fans make their way back to the NYC-Metro area if they don’t want to spend the night in the Hamptons. The train leaves the LIRR East Hampton station at 10:56 p.m. both nights of the festival and then heads for all of the local stops on Long Island and into Brooklyn and Manhattan.

“We are so excited about this partnership,” festival founder Chris Jones said. “It further proves the support of the local community that has been working together to ensure that this festival is a success.”

The inaugural MTK: Music To Know Festival features Vampire Weekend, Bright Eyes, Matt and Kim, Cold War Kids, Chromeo, Ra Ra Riot, Fritz & The Tantrums, and M. Ward.

Tickets are still available. General admission passes are priced at $195 and one-day tickets are $110. Service charges are not included in the quoted ticket prices.
