Reel Big Cancellation

01:43 PM Thursday 8/4/11 | |

Reel Big Fish won’t make tonight’s show because frontman Aaron Barrett is in the hospital. The ska punk band will also miss Friday’s performance.

According to an announcement from the band, the singer went to the hospital after not feeling well following Wednesday’s show in Norfolk, Va. His symptoms included a fever and discomfort.

Barrett will spend the night in a medical facility resting. Doctors are monitoring him following a procedure for an abscess caused by complications from a recent appendectomy.

Reel Big Fish is in the middle of a co-headline tour with Streetlight Manifesto, who will still appear at the Thursday and Friday shows. Tonight’s gig takes place at the Fillmore Charlotte in North Carolina. On Friday Streetlight Manifesto will take the stage at the 311 Pow Wow Festival in Live Oak, Fla., at Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park.

Barrett is expected to make a full recovery and be well enough to resume the tour with Reel Big Fish on Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., at Revolution.
