Doheny Days Expands Lineup

04:01 PM Wednesday 8/10/11 |   |

The Southern California music festival gives you three more reasons to buy a ticket by adding Weezer, Cake and Ziggy Marley to the fun.

Scheduled for Sept. 10-11 in southern Orange County at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, Doheny Days has revealed just about everything you need to know about this year’s festival.

First off, there’s the daily lineups with Sept. 10 featuring performances by Ben Harper, G. Love & Special Sauce, Donavon Frankenreiter, New Zealand’s Katchafire, JJ Grey & Mofro, and Common Sense.

Weezer tops the Sept. 11 lineup that also includes Cake, Ziggy Marley, Neon Trees, Black Uhuru, and Blitz The Ambassador.

Appearing on both days will be regional acts and DJs spread over Doheny Days’ three stages.

These days music festivals promise more than music and Doheny Days is no exception with organizers Omega Events rolling out an 85-foot Ferris Wheel and providing local art displays, midway games, food and drinks, and a bike valet.

If you haven’t yet purchased your tickets, you can forget about the Flashback 2004 pricing that offered weekend passes for $50. That’s gone. Likewise the Early Bird presale $70 weekend passes and the presale $45 single day / $75 weekend deal.

What is available is the Omega on-sale that gives you a single day pass for $50 and an adult weekend pass for $80. If procrastination is your life’s work, the day-of-show single passes will be priced at $60 (plus $5 service; $3 charity / $2 venue).

Of course, there’s a website with all the Doheny Days info you need. Just click here.

It amazes me that Weezer still headlines events.  They made two great albums and have gone downhill since.

Ironically, Weezer makes me NOT want to go.
