Singing For Children In Need

01:01 PM Wednesday 9/14/11 |   |

Coldplay, Lady Gaga and Michael Buble are helping BBC Children In Need raise funds by taking part in the charity’s concert in November.

BBC Children In Need Rocks Manchester takes place Nov. 17 at the Manchester Evening News Arena in the United Kingdom.

The charity provides grants to projects in the U.K., which focus on disadvantaged children and young people. BBC Children In Need’s website explains that the charity’s vision is for every child in the U.K. to have a childhood that is safe, happy and secure, allowing them to reach their potential.

The concert is being organized by Take That singer / U.K’s “The X Factor” judge Gary Barlow. BBC Radio 1 presenters Fearne Cotton and Chris Moyles will be your hosts for the evening along with Scottish actor David Tennant (best known for his role as the Doctor in “Doctor Who” and his role in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”).

The event will feature a “secret roster of special celebrity guests and never-before seen surprise collaborations.” So far the lineup also includes Snow Patrol, Elbow, Ed Sheeran, JLS, N Dubz and “House” star/bluesman Hugh Laurie. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
