The Weezer Cruise departs from Miami Jan. 19 for the island of Cozumel off the coast of Mexico on the Carnival Cruise Line – “Destiny.” The festival-at-sea, which is presented by concert cruise company Sixthman, returns to the harbor Jan. 23.
The cruise features shows taking place on four stages around the ship. The fun begins on Jan. 19 when Weezer plays The Blue Album in its entirety on the lido deck along with some of the band’s greatest hits. Attendees will get the chance to vote on just which favorite hits are performed.
Thursday’s lineup also includes Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, Gene Ween and Dave Dreiwitz, The Antlers, Ozma, Yacht Rock Revue, Boom Bip, Free Energy, Keepaway and The Knocks. These acts will perform again before the cruise concludes.
The movie night is set for Thursday evening on the lido deck with a flick personally selected by Bell. Fans are invited to attend the screening in their pajamas or robes.
On Friday Weezer will perform Pinkerton and the album’s B-sides, followed by a repeat performance of Pinkerton on Saturday.
Additional acts on the cruise include J Mascis, Lou Barlow, The Nervous Wreckords, and Sleeper Agent.
Fans can also look forward to Rivers Cuomo reading from the “Pinkerton Diaries,” wedding vow renewals hosted by Scott Shriner, Weezer Karaoke, Weezer Q&A and Ugly Sweater Night. For some friendly competition attendees can take part in bingo, Weezer Team Trivia, cannonball and belly-flop contests, as well as a flip cup tournament.
Special 4-pack discount pricing is available now at the price of just $499 per person. Sixthman has also introduced the “Independent Traveler Program.”
