Honoring Bob Mould

11:01 AM Thursday 9/22/11 |   |

Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, Ryan Adams and Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard are among the artists gathering in Los Angeles this fall to honor punk pioneer Bob Mould.

Mould’s legacy is going to be tough to honor in only one evening, but Grohl, Adams, and Gibbard along with No Age, Best Coast, The Hold Steady’s Craig Finn and Tad Kubler; plus Margaret Cho with Grant-Lee Phillips are going to give it their best shots come Nov. 21 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A.

The plan for “See A Little Light: A Celebration Of Bob Mould” calls for each artist to perform songs from Mould’s incredible catalog, including selections from his days as frontman for Hüsker Dü in the 1980s and with Sugar in the ‘90s. Add that to all the fine solo work Mould has released over the years and the biggest challenge facing the artists honoring him just might be deciding which tunes to sing.

The evening will be capped by Mould playing a set to close the show.
