Bridge School Benefit On CD & DVD

Fans can relive Bridge School Benefit performances from Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Pearl Jam and Neil Young thanks to the upcoming release of a 25th anniversary edition CD and DVD collection.

The 25th annual benefit concert is scheduled for Oct. 22-23 in Mountain View, Calif., at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The 2011 lineup includes Young, Dave Matthews, Arcade Fire, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Beck and Diana Krall.

Young and his wife Pegi organize the yearly event, with all proceeds directly benefiting The Bridge School. The non-profit organization works to help individuals with severe speech and physical impairments.

A three-DVD and two-CD collection of Bridge School Benefit performances is being released Oct. 24 to mark the concert’s milestone anniversary. All profits will go directly to the Bridge School.

In addition to the previously listed artists, the CD and DVD collection includes tunes from Jack Johnson, Fleet Foxes, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Willie Nelson, Metallica, Thom Yorke, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Jonathan Richman, Brian Wilson, The Who, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Devendra Banhart, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John & Leon Russell, Tom Petty and Tom Waits

A third DVD features Bridge School documentaries including “Backstage At The Bridge School Benefit Concert” and ‘The Bridge School Story,” along with student/artist interviews.
