George Strait signs on for the Austin forest fire benefit, Paul Simon adds dates in Kentucky and Ohio and Foo Fighters reschedule Sacramento.

Strait Added To “Fire Relief’

The concert scheduled for the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, Oct. 17 has boosted its already impressive star power by adding George Strait to the lineup. Proceeds benefit victims of the recent devastating forest fires in the state.

Already announced as appearing at “Fire Relief: The Concert For Central Texas” are Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett and Asleep At The Wheel along with special guests Eric Johnson, Steve Miller, Joe Satriani, Christopher Cross, Texas Tornados, Randy Rogers and Terri Hendrix.

Tickets are on sale now with prices ranging from $25 to $100 along with $250 VIP passes that include premium seating and access to the VIP Lounge in the Lone Star Room. There will also be a silent auction featuring items autographed by the artists. Click here for more information.

Foos’ ‘Unforeseen’ Sac Conflict

Foo Fighters fans holding tickets for the band’s Northern California gig at the Sacramento Power Balance Arena Oct. 20 will have to wait almost two extra weeks to Dave Grohl & Co. Citing an “unforeseen scheduling conflict” the concert, which includes Cage The Elephant and Mariachi El Bronx on the lineup, has been moved to Nov. 1.

New on the schedule are Highland Heights, Ky., at the Bank Of Kentucky Center Nov. 22 and Akron, Ohio, at E.J. Thomas Hall Nov. 23.
