Soundgarden, Kanye West, Kasabian To Headline Big Day Out

Fans had to be extremely patient with organizers of Australia’s annual Big Day Out traveling music festival as organizers released the lineup one act at a time via social media outlets.

Using Facebook and Twitter, organizers slowly unveiled Big Day Out’s lineup, but chose to announce headliners Soundgarden, Kanye West and Kasabian on a morning radio show.

Other acts making the journey to Australia and New Zealand for Big Day Out include My Chemical Romance, Foster The People, The Living End, Girl Talk, Battles, Mariachi El Bronx, Cage The Elephant and Frenzal Rhomb. Skateboard pro Tony Hawk is also onboard for the six-day tour.

Big Day Out 2012 beings in Auckland, New Zealand at Mt. Smart Stadium Jan.20 then heads to Australia for stops at Gold Coast’s Parklands Jan. 22; Sydney’s Olympic Park Showgrounds Jan. 26; Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse Jan. 29; Adelaide at RA&HS Showgrounds Feb. 3 and Perth at Claremont Showgrounds Feb. 5.
