Last time we checked in with Nada Surf the band had announced just three U.S. dates for 2012. Now the alternative group has more than a dozen additional North American gigs to choose from.

The new dates begin March 20 in Los Angeles at The Music Box. U.S. gigs are booked through an April 10 show in Washington, D.C., at the 9:30 Club.

The tour also features stops in San Francisco (March 21); Portland, Ore. (March 23); Salt Lake City (March 27); Denver (March 29); Omaha, Neb. (March 30); Minneapolis (March 31); Chicago (April 2); Boston (April 6); New York (April 7); and Philadelphia (April 9).

Nada Surf will also play two shows in Canada – Toronto (April 4) and Montreal (April 5).

A previously announced European tour is scheduled Feb. 7-28.

The band is touring in support of its seventh studio album, The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy. The album will be released Jan. 24, the same day the U.S. tour kicks off in New York at the Bowery Ballroom.
