Straight Up Spring Dates

05:01 PM Tuesday 11/22/11 |   |

Straight No Chaser will sing its way through yet another tour across the U.S. and Canada beginning in early March.

The a cappella men’s group is in the middle of its current U.S. tour. Tonight the guys play New York City’s Beacon Theatre. Straight No Chaser ends the year in Pollstar’s hometown with a Dec. 31 gig in Fresno, Calif., at William Saroyan Theatre.

The group’s 2012 schedule begins with a round of United Kingdom dates Feb. 5-19. The North American tour will then launch March 6 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at Burton Cummings Theatre, followed by additional Canadian dates scheduled through March 15. After touring the states SNC returns to Canada for another set of shows May 17-26.

The U.S. dates kick off March 17 in Missoula, Mont., at the Wilma Theatre.

Additional stops include Las Vegas (March 25); Fort Collins, Colo. (March 29-31); Shreveport, La. (April 2); Austin (April 4); Fort Smith, Ark. (April 10); Chattanooga, Tenn. (April 11); Toledo, Ohio (April 19); Saginaw, Mich. (April 20); Newark, N.J. (April 28); Savannah, Ga. (May 5); Pensacola, Fla. (May 6); and Gainesville, Fla. (May 13).

Last year Straight No Chaser put out its third studio album, With a Twist. On Nov. 29 the group will release its new EP, Six Pack: Volume 2. The follow-up to 2009’s Six Pack EP features the group’s take on Weezer’s “Buddy Holly,” Madonna’s “Like A Prayer” and The Temptations’ “Get Ready.” Six Pack: Volume 2 also includes SNC’s medley of the Plain White T’s “Rhythm Of Love” with Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling In Love” and Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” mixed with Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison.”

Tune in to NBC on Thursday to see Straight No Chaser perform at the 85th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Dec. 3 PBS will begin airing SNC’s new special “Songs Of The Decades: Holiday Edition.” The special was filmed this summer at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.

Presale tickets are available to members of the band’s online community beginning today. Tickets go on sale to the public for most markets beginning Dec. 2.

The Six Pack: Volume 2 EP is available for pre-order through the band’s official web store.
