Taking place on the English Channel island June 22-24, Petty & Co. join a performing roster that has Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band closing the three-day music celebration June 24.
The Isle Of Wight appearance will mark the first time Petty & The Heartbreakers have played a U.K. festival. The gig is being hailed by the festival’s promoters as the band’s “first major U.K. show in 20 years.”
Here’s the Isle Of Wight 2012 lineup so far, per the festival’s website.
Friday, June 22 – Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Elbow, Example and Noah And The Whale.
Saturday, June 23 – Biffy Clyro and Madness with a headliner yet to be announced.
Sunday, June 24 – Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Vaccines.
Of course, this is a very early version of what’s in store for Isle of Wight festivalgoers and more acts are expected to be added to the lineup during the months to come.
Three-day passes (camping and non-camping) plus VIP packages are available now. Visit IsleOfWightFestival.com for more info.
