Musician/songwriter/actor Zakk Wylde will be in the hot seat next month when the guitar icon is roasted by his old pal Ozzy Osbourne and a group that includes Chris Jericho and Anthrax’s Scott Ian.
Guitar World’s first-ever Rock & Roll Roast takes place Jan. 19 at The Grove in Anaheim, Calif.
“How can they roast me? I’m a good Catholic boy,” Wylde, the former guitarist for Ozzy and founder of Black Label Society, said in a statement.
Sharon Osbourne is the roastmaster for the event, which features Stone Cold Steve Austin and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor. Comedy and roast veterans Jim Norton, Brian Posehn, Jim Florentine and others will also take part in the fun.
“Zakk has always called me his Mom, but I think my boy needs a good kicking,” Sharon Osbourne said in a statement.
The Rock & Roll Roast is presented by Epiphone Guitars and sponsored by Monster Energy Drink, EMG Pickups, Revolver Magazine, Marshall Amplification, Dunlop, Eagle Rock and Samson.
A portion of all proceeds will go to MusiCares, a charity that helps musicians in times of financial, personal or medical crisis.
The roast is not open to the public, but if you’d like to learn about attending and sponsoring the event, click here for Rock And Roll Roast’s website.
