Toronto’s Edgefest Set For July 2012

Rocking Canada for the past two decades, the mammoth radio station festival reveals an initial lineup that includes Billy Talent, Death From Above 1979 and the Silversun Pickups.

Presented by radio station 102.1 The Edge, Edgefest ’12 will rock Toronto’s Downsview Park July 14. Originally conceived for the radio station’s 10th birthday celebration, past Edgefest artists include A Perfect Circle, Radiohead, Green Day, Blur, Our Lady Peace and Stone Temple Pilots.

Organizers have already booked 17 acts for next summer’s blowout. Mainstage bands include Billy Talent, Death From Above 1979, Silversun Pickups, The Sheepdogs, Young The Giant, Dirty Heads, USS and The Pack A.D. Sidestage groups include Acres Of Lions, The Balconies, The Coppertone, The Darcys, Hacienda, Indian Handcrafts, Library Voices, Said The Whale and Whale Tooth.

“102.1 The Edge is proud to continue its tradition of showcasing Canadian and international talent at Edgefest ’12,” Edge program director Ross Winters said in a statement. “Edgefest gives our dedicated listeners access to a full day of live music in an outdoor setting at Toronto’s Downsview Park.”
