New 2012 Dates For Tool

04:01 PM Tuesday 12/13/11 |   |

Tool has slotted a handful of U.S. and Canadian dates for January, marking the band’s first North American tour since July 2010.

Although an official tour announcement hasn’t been posted to Tool’s website, a number of dates are listed on Ticketmaster.com and Live Nation’s site.

The first show is Jan. 14 in Reno, Nev., at Reno Events Center with dates booked through a Jan. 31 gig in Uncasville, Conn., at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Maynard James Keenan and the gang are also scheduled to play Tucson Arena in Arizona Jan. 17; Albuquerque, N.M., at Tingley Coliseum @ New Mexico State Fair Jan. 18; Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie in Texas Jan. 20; Toledo, Ohio, at The Huntington Center Jan. 24; and Camden, N.J., at Susquehanna Bank Center Jan. 29.

The Canadian dates take place at Toronto’s Air Canada Center Jan. 25 and London, Ontario, at The John Labatt Centre Jan. 26.

If Tool is going to add any more gigs to the tour, chances are the shows won’t be scheduled between Feb. 23 through March 18. That’s when Keenan’s side project Puscifer is touring the U.S. and Canada.

Tickets for Tool’s Canadian shows and the Uncasville gig go on sale Saturday. The rest of Tool’s U.S. dates, as well as all of the Puscifer shows, go on sale Friday.

Can someone help me explain, to my friends , how the Tool concert in Toledo next month sold out in just a few quick minutes.I realize the venue only holds around 7500 to 8000 seats, but that was pretty fast. When i was a young kid in high school, I remeber Led Zeppelin selling out the Pontiac Silverdome (76,229 people attended the April 30th 1977 )in a half hour.
