The pop singer/actress called off appearances at B96 Jingle Bash and KISS 106.1 Jingle Bell Bash because of a family emergency.

B96 Jingle Bash took place Dec. 17 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. The Chicago-area radio station’s lineup featured Enrique Iglesias, Karmin, Joe Jonas, Jason Derulo and LMFAO.

Before the show 96.3 FM announced that Selena Gomez wouldn’t be performing because of a family emergency. Early Monday morning the radio station posted on its website that “there was definitely a good reason” she missed the show with a link to a radio report explaining that Gomez’s mother recently had a miscarriage.

E! Online claims that a “source close to the situation” told the site that Gomez’s mother suffered a miscarriage Friday. The singer reportedly learned the news Friday night while in the audience at Power 106 Cali Christmas in Los Angles and then immediately left the show.

Gomez tweeted on Nov. 25 that her mother was pregnant.

The KISS 106.1 Jingle Bell Bash, which was scheduled for Dec. 18 in Seattle at the WaMu Theater, has been postponed.

Gomez wasn’t the only act that couldn’t make the original date. On Friday One Republic announced on Twitter that the band was forced to miss the show because frontman Ryan Tedder was still on vocal rest. The lineup was also scheduled to feature Cobra Starship, Hot Chelle Rae, Tinie Tempah and Karmin.

A new Jingle Bell Bash date will be announced Jan. 6. Tickets will be honored for the new date.
