Michael Schenker Gets Busy

10:01 AM Thursday 12/22/11 |   |

The guitarist extraordinaire lines up a coast-to-coast excursion beginning in mid February.

Supporting his October release Temple Of Rock, the Michael Schenker Group gets down to some serious touring biz starting at San Francisco’s Mezzanine Feb. 15. Featuring Robin McAuley, other destinations include Portland, Ore., at Dante’s Feb. 17; Seattle’s Studio Seven Feb. 19; Santa Clara, Calif., at Avalon Night Club Feb. 22; West Hollywood’s House Of Blues Feb. 25; Detroit at Harpo’s Concert Theatre March 3; Cleveland at Peabody’s Concert Club March 5; New York City at the Gramercy Theatre March 10; Dallas at Trees March 17; Las Vegas at Count’s Vamp’d March 22 and San Juan Capistrano, Calif., at The Coach House March 24.

Describing Temple Of Rock, Schenker said the album represented a “new stage” in his life where he is “reaping the joy of all sorts of developments from the past.”

“Also, it seems to me that collectively, with true expressive makers of rock music, we have been building the external Temple Of Rock for many years and have now come to the point of putting on the roofing and celebrating the almost completion of the Temple,” Schenker said.
